So this is the first post ever!!! I am currently studying for my USMLE step 1.....I am a foreign medical student studying in Mexico and loving it. I hope that this helps a little for those who are out there studying too or are starting to think about the first step!
Resources:
Kaplan Q bank
USMLE world Q bank
Both of these are great, USMLE world has a harder level or questions but Kaplan is a great resource and a good place to start.
First Aid
I would say that unless you really know your stuff this is a waste of time, there is a lot missing and it is really difficult to follow if you are not at the level where you are just review point by point facts.
Kaplan Review Course
Great resource, good books, great videos.
Review series books- they vary depending on the subject.....some are better than others and if you are using a review course then books that you have from previous semesters can help make some of the harder concepts easier to grasp....they are good for some concise tables and listings though!
Med Essentials--great resource but has a few holes, I would compare it with more complete review course material
All of the audio is perfect for your car.....at the gym.... anytime you cant have a book in your hand and you want to study...Goljan, Kaplan are great resources.
I have heard of the BSS but I have not used it personally, so no recommends on that...sorry!
I hope this helps, as I come up with more I will let you know! Let me know if you have any questions or if you know of any other good resources!
